  1. thumbs up to toughguy.....holmes by decision

  2. Larry Holmes get up from a knock down to win a unanimous decision like he did against another great puncher, Earnie Shavers.

  3. Sonny Liston was a menacing fighter who of course is well known for that scowling stare of his and bad guy image.  He had a very powerful jab and tremendous power and was actually a pretty good boxer.  Larry Holmes had arguably the best jab in boxing history and usually controlled his fights with that jab of his.  He also had decent power and could take a good shot.  Larry always seemed to have an image problem and felt he wasn't appreciated as much as he should have.  I believe the main difference in this fight would be the speed of Holmes and his ability to land his jab against Liston.  Liston would too land his share and his would carry more force.  I see this fight going round after round with Holmes landing the higher volume of punches with Sonny in pursuit landing good shots from time to time.  I believe that Holmes wins by a rather comfortable margin and by unanimous decision.  Good question sir.

  4. Larry Holmes

  5. Thumbs up to toughguy and Maurice, I too see Holmes keeping Liston at bay and winning a decision.
