The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder has admitted that he will continue to give his all for the national side in training in order to land a chance of playing.

The player was also used by Joachim Low as a right-back in the game against Denmark at the 2012 European championships after Jerome Boateng was suspended. The Leverkusen man scored the winner and put in an impressive display.
The 23-year-old is confident that he may get his chances if he impresses Joachim Low and is hopeful that he has a bright future with the national side.
“Of course I love to play always. But in the German national team we have a lot of good football players. I think I have gained a good standing after the European Championship. If I am perfect over a long period of time, I will
surely get my chance. I want to present myself to the coach in the best possible way,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Bender admitted that his side were below par in the game against Italy in the semi-final of the European championship. He stated that the Germans deserved to lose as they played poorly throughout the course of
90 minutes.
