Lars Bender targets two wins in the Bundesliga before the winter break
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lars-Bender-c21663 is targeting wins in the next two matches in the Bundesliga before the winter break starts at the end of December. The player claimed that winning the next two matches is very important as
the club wants to minimize the gap at the top and end the first half of the campaign on a high.
Werkself will take on Hannover and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 before the winter break starts and have a good chance to secure two wins in order to climb the Bundesliga standings table. The club is currently sixth on the table with 25 points
from the 15 games played and is six points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Bender is aiming for two wins in the next two matches as he wants to keep up to the likes of Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. The player insisted that his team has been playing some brilliant football in the past few weeks and wants
to capitalise on the impressive performances.
The German international is delighted on the recent consistency of the team after a rather poor start to the season.
“We want to get two wins. I think we've played well in the last few weeks and have shown the real Bayer 04 Leverkusen. At the start of the campaign we were too inconsistent, but we're up and running now. We want to keep that up
and get another six points before the break,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The midfielder praised the team for the great showing in the UEFA Champions League this season. He admitted that the team’s main aim was to qualify for the next round and that target has been achieved.
“Of course, our aim was to make it through. Given the strength of the teams in our group we wouldn't have predicted qualifying for the next stage with a game to spare,” he concluded.
Bayer Leverkusen finished second in the Group-E of the Champions League with 10 points and were one point behind leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. They won three of the six games played and suffered defeat in two of the matches.
