Lars Petter Nordhaug to leave Team Sky at the end of 2012 season
As the 2012 season is well passed the half way mark, the transfer activities in the sports of cycling is pretty busy at the moment.
All the cycling teams are keen to have the best available cyclists on their side to ensure their strengths for the season ahead.
On the other hand, the riders are also looking for a better home to secure their future for the seasons ahead.
Lars Petter Nordhaug of Team Sky has decided to end his associations with the British outfit, Team Sky and has hinted to join Team Rabobank for the 2013-14 seasons.
"During my career, I’ve always looked up to the Rabobank team, now I’m very happy I can ride with the team”.
"There were more teams interested in me. But Rabobank is a strong team with good riders, I really want to ride with them," he briefed to Rabosport.
It was his third year with Team Sky after the Norwegian marked his professional debut with Team Maxbo Bianchi in 2005-09 seasons.
He has helped the British side with numerous victories in the past seasons and his absence will definitely be felt in the seasons to come.
"Sky is a great team, I was satisfied there, but I am ready to develop myself further,” Lars voiced.
"I hope I can contribute to the team in the classics in the Ardennes and in the competitions with shorter stages”.
“I have showed myself with results, but I am also strong in helping other riders in the race".
Team Sky is having a terrific season and it was definitely not an easy decision to leave a time when it has found the right balance to bag the main events as the Tour de France.
However, Nordhaug himself is enjoying a superb form with his first win of the 2012 season coming at the Trofeo Deia 2012.
The cyclist finished second at the National Road Race Championship, third at the National Time Trial Championships and also claimed the third overall position at the Glava Tour of Norway 2012.
Petter wins the third stage of the Criterium International along with a fourth overall victory at the race and his top-notch performance made his job pretty easy to find a new home for 2012 season.
