Die Knappen will take on Borussia Dortmund this weekend at the Signal Iduna Park in one of the most exciting games of the season. The ‘Ruhr Derby’, as it is called by many, will witness two of the biggest clubs in German football take on each other.
Schalke are currently fourth on the Bundesliga standings table with 11 points from the six games played and are only behind Dortmund on goal difference. The defending champions are on third place with three wins from the six games played.
Unnerstall admitted that all the players are looking forward to the clash and insisted that his side is targeting a win in the fixture to continue with their impressive start to the season. He stated that the players are determined to perform in Saturday’s fixture and they are prepared to give their all.
“Everybody's looking forward to the match. The players that have stayed behind and haven't had much chance to play are really getting stuck in and showing what they can do. You can see everyone is keen to play in the derby,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the glovesman is targeting an improved performance this time around and is keen to secure all three points in a difficult fixture away from home. He stressed that Schalke surely have a great chance as they have some great talent in their squad.
“I think we need to be more courageous and a touch more aggressive. We allowed ourselves to be intimidated at Dortmund last season and we played too deep. We're definitely in with a chance if we play like we did in the first half of the last home game against Dortmund,” he concluded.
Schalke have a tough clash against Borussia Dortmund this weekend and then they face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the UEFA Champions League next week. The two fixtures are crucial for the side as they look to continue performing in the league and the European competition.
