If you are talking about MGM's City Center the completion date for that project is November 2009.

Nope not finished and doubt it will open when they say it will. Still a lot of construction going on.

City Center, the huge project, should be done in another year.  Cosmopolitcan right next to Jockey Club is bankrupt and up for sale!!!

The resort that "embraces" the Jockey club (i.e. wraps around it on three sides is called the "Grand Hyatt Las Vegas at The Cosmopolitan" and is 3000 rooms scheduled to be completed th quarter next year. The project is in and out of bankruptcy but the recent infusion of money from Hyatt means it will be completed on schedule.

The "City Center" mega resort next door is also scheduled to be completed at around the same time. This will consist of four hotels (condos, residences).

In a different location on the strip, the 4000 room, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is schedules to open also around the same time.

The simultaneous opening of these three resorts with 13,000 rooms coupled with the massive drop in gambling revenue has put all of the other projects on hold. The most visible projects are "The Echelon" which had already begun steel framing when it was shut down for at least a year. Another mega-project is "The Plaza Hotel" on the site of the old "New Frontier" hotel. Another mega-project would have turned the Tropicana Casino into the largest hotel in the world with 10000 rooms. Another mega project would have built an 1800 foot Crown Tower hotel , next to the Fontainbleu. Another project would have torn down the Imperial Palace and completely renovated the block. Another mega-project was to build an Elvis theme resort just south of the Planet Hollywood. Another mega-project would be to build a giant resort on the opposite side of the I-15 where the Wild Wild West truck stop and casino currently stands. Another mega-project called Vegas Pulse would be to build a $10 billion resort north of the Stratosphere. Antother mega-project is to build a 60 story casino hotel next to the outlet malls off of I-15 and Charleston, Another Another Another Another ....
