I am going to Las Vegas for my boyfriend’s birthday and we are going with 2 other couples. We are looking for a nice restaurant that all 6 of us can go to for a birthday dinner. We want something that is nice but not overly overly fancy. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. When I went there a couple of years ago there was this great restaurant called America in the New York New York hotel/casino.  It's a great place with great food for a great price!  Perfect for a party or a dinner for two!  I was impressed.  Keep in mind this isn't going to be one of the higher end type of restaurants.  It's more of a comfortable laid back type of atmosphere.  A nice place to just kind o f kick back and relax after a long day of sight seeing on the strip.

    Have fun!  I'm jealous!

  2. there are way too many to choose from.  I liked Joe's Crab at Caesar's Forum Shoppes, Emeril's Fish House at the MGM is AWESOME!   Top of the World on top of the Stratosphere is a little pricey, but worth the amazing experience.  I dont like all the ultra-chic overyly priced places at Bellagio and Wynn.  Gallaghers Steak House at NYNY is good.  I really liked Binion's Steak house on the top of Binions on Freemont St.  (the chicken fried lobster ROCKS!)  Sunday morning go to Bally's Sterling Brunch...it's way worth the $65 and something you need to do a least once.   Do some work on the web and check out menus or you wil never decide.  Local restaraunts are worth checking out too (Batista's Hole in the Wall, Lotus of Siam)  Have fun!

  3. Sure....there are numerous of them and you have numerous choices. Check out the following link . It has all the details including address and phone numbers

  4. Local here born and raised. Have to say best restaurant is Bahama Breeze for something different. It's nice cozy place great food. Or if you prefer mexican there's Cozy Mel's right next door which is also good. They're off the strip which makes them not as expensive cause restaurants on the strip are very overpriced.

  5. I am going this weekend (can't wait!) and am already looking forward to eating!  My husband and I go about twice a year and we eat at a lot of restaurants.

If you are wanting steak, I would recommend either MESA (Bobby Flay's restaurant at Caesar's Palace) or Gallagher's Steakhouse (in NYNY).  Both are a bit pricey, but the food is excellent.  I have had the filet in both places and it is so tender you hardly need a fork.  The wine is tremendous and the service was great.  My husband and I had a bill of $165 and that included our wine and dessert (approximation of both restaurants).

If you are wanting buffet recommendations then I would suggest the Paris Buffet.  This is by far my favorite buffet in Las Vegas.  The food is so fresh and fantastic.  Each station has chefs preparing the food and it is very neat to watch them do so.  There is a large dessert station which features everything from sugar-less desserts to just-made creme brulee.  It is wonderful.  The cost of this buffet is about $30 per person for lunch and about $40-45 for dinner.  The downside is the long lines for this buffet, but hey, that's a sign it's good!  I would also suggest my runner-up, which is the Rio Buffet.  There are a few there, and unfortunately I don't remember the name of this particular one, but it is their most popular and it serves food from all over the world.  I had sushi, steak, shrimp, lobster and pasta!  You'll need AAA to help lift you out of your seat to leave, it's so good!

Emeril's Fish House in the MGM is also good, but if in the MGM I would recommend Wolfgang Puck's cafe.  The food is not overly expensive, the atmosphere is wonderfully casual (you do not have to dress up AT ALL) and you are smack in the middle of the casino, so you can look all around you at the sights and sounds of everyone passing by and the nearby KA theatre.  I love this restaurant.  The food is so fresh and there is sure to be something everyone would love.  The price range for husband and I (including wine and dessert) was only about $85-95.  Oh yeah, order the Chocolate Souffle when you order your meal, so they can make it in time for your dessert.  You will melt under the table when you eat it.  It is fa-bu-lous!

For shows, since you are right there, I highly suggest seeing KA.  We saw this in January and it was absolutely amazing.  The tickets were expensive (about $165 per ticket) but the show was so worth it.  I would go again and again.  If he is into hard rock, acrobatics and breath-holding stunts, then really, take him to this.  People are flying over your head, behind you, on the stage and the seats have speakers included so you get your own audio.  It's awesome!

I hope these tips helped.  Be sure to call in advance to any specific restaurant you want to go to, to make reservations.  Buffets don't have reservations, so you can't call ahead on those, but the restaurants are a must.  Otherwise you might have to wait till 11 or later to eat.  Good luck and have fun!

  6. I have to agree with joliesol, the America in New York New York is a great place to eat. I've been there twice and really enjoy it there, both times i had the steak and crab legs (comes w/soup or salad) and dinner rolls, potato of choice and veggies. And for $14.95 a person you really can't beat it, or you can check out the Cheese Cake Factory inside Caesars Palace. Both places are nice but not overly fancy, the Cheese cake has killer cheese cake.........

  7. The Prime Rib Loft in the Orleans might fit the bill for you.  Reasonable prices and the food was very good.  Also you overlook the casino and somebody can actually run down during dinner and place a bet if they have to.

  8. Casa Di Amore. It's off the strip, but has live music. It is like an old vegas (mob) atmosphere. Not too dressy, but the food is great. There's a keyboarder and violin player that start at 6 or 7 pm.
