Laser eye surgery and hyperopia.?

Question

I'm long sighted with about +6 in both my eyes, and I also have astigmatism. I would really like to have laser eye surgery but I know it's aimed more at people with myopia.

With my prescription would I be able to have regular laser eye surgery? Is it possible?

I have also heard about intraoptical lenses. I don't really fancy them, but I have read that they are better for more severe eye problems. If anyone could tell me a little more about that option and any side effects that come with it, I'd be much obliged.

I have co-managed several patients with your level of prescription.  The key to this is how much your eye can be altered to achieve the goal.  You should be able to have a consultation with a reputable surgeon and he'll/she'll tell you your potential candidacy.  Far-sighted people such as yourself have a slightly lesser success rate due to the dynamic nature of the prescription.  

I have not had the opportunity to work with the implantable lenses so I cannot give you any firsthand knowledge about them, but I have been co-managing LASIK for 10 years.
