Laser flashlight please help?

what can I use to make laser flashlight i already know i can do it with a 16xdvd burner but what else can i use please help

a laser would be a very ineffective flashlight b/c by function it is made to illuminate a very small area. In the dark a laser would allow you to see only a 1/4 inch circle, but very brightly. Flashlights are made to light up larger areas so you can see around you.

Burner lasers are very small lasers, cheap laser pointers would be bigger and cheaper, but still very useless as flashlights.
