Lass Cause is hot favourite for the 2012 Sporting Press Irish Oaks Round 1 Heat 1 at Shelbourne Park in Ireland on Thursday, May 24, 2012. The winner of the Grade OR event will be awarded a cash prize of €100.
The greyhound with the best stamina has will succeed in the race, as the overall distance to cover is 525 yards. The action is scheduled to start at 20:40 GMT and following entries have been confirmed: Lass Cause, Local Opinion, Perles Godetia, Rios Girl,
Drumna Nina and Flomur Perla.
Only Lass Cause has participated in Grade OR events, which gives her an edge over her rivals. She has quite a lot of experience and has won races in this class before, thus it will be a clever choice to place bets on her today.
The G. Holland’s trainee took part in a solo run at Shelbourne Park recently and managed to set an impressive time. She has got both the speed and stamina to outperform her opponents and is likely to win comprehensively.
Although victories have eluded Lass Cause over the past few events, she still has been doing a decent job overall. In her most recent Grade OR outing, she managed to secure the fourth place. This was not a bad result at all, as the level of competition was
quite high back then.
The black b***h is the daughter of College Causeway out of Borna Lass and was born in July 2009.
Looking at the performances of Local Opinion, it appears that she might manage to give a tough time to her opponents at Shelbourne Park. Although she has never raced in this class, she has the tools to deliver a solid run.
The O'Sullivan’s trainee finished runner up in her most recent outing. She was not rated favourite for the Grade A2 event and was against some quality runners. Despite that, she managed to impress one and all with her speed and stamina.
However, the real test for the black b***h will be to deliver a strong show at Shelbourne Park today. She is the daughter of Westmead Hawk out of Local Glamour and was born in August 2009.
On the other hand, it seems quite difficult for the other runners to challenge Lass Cause in the race today.
