French midfielder, Lassana Diarra, completed a big move to Anzhi Makhachkala after signing a three-year contract with the Makhachkala-based club on the last day of the summer transfer window.
The Madrid-based club let the 27-year-old, who made 117 appearances for Real, leave the Bernabeu after signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC on a season long loan spell. The Spanish giants confirmed Diarra’s departure after capturing
the Ghanaian International.
Los Blancos parted company with their third midfielder this summer, having already sent http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 last month.
The Dagestani club, on the other hand, continued their reputation of being a big spending Russian Premier League club after becoming the first Russian club to sign an individual from the La Liga winners.
Diarra, who will earn reportedly 3.5 million Euros annually, has quashed the reports suggesting that the former Portsmouth man joined the mega-rich Dagestani club for money, saying that he joined the ambitious Russian outfit because
he wanted a new challenge in his life.
"Spartak have expressed their interest in the summer, but at that time I was fully committed with Real. I do not really want to list all the clubs that have shown interest in me. Anzhi is an ambitious club, that's why I decided
to come here. And the fact that Eto'o is also here.”
“During my career, I've played in many big European clubs and I have earned a lot of money there. So, money was not a deciding factor for me. The Anzhi is a new challenge for me. I think we can win titles and I'll do anything for
it.” The Copa del Rey winner was quoted as saying.
