Lassinagh Brae to hit the second career success through the Betfair Open 600 at Shelbourne Park on 14th April
Taking part in the Betfair Open 600 are Socks Rocks, Rockchase Bullet, Lassinagh Brae, Kereight Bear, Ders Always One and Airlie Impact. The race will be held over 600 yards flat on Saturday, 14th April at Shelbourne Park. The prize money for
the race is set at €500.
Ders Always One and Rockchase Bullet are aiming for a hat trick through the race today. However, the most recently trained hound on the line-up is Lassinagh Brae, Kinloch Brae’s two-year-old black son out of b***h, Lady Aaron.
The current season marks as his career debut season and he has raced only thrice during it. A fourth position then a second ranking and then finally he posted a victory.
On 17th February, Lassinagh Brae raced the first career attempt in a 569 yards race that was won by Lisnakill Ross who timed the distance in 31.27 seconds and led by 4 ¾ lengths.
His next start was on 24th February in a 550 yards race that he again lost. This time the defeat came by two lengths’ margin. The winner, Paddy The Pricer, clocked the track distance in 29.99 seconds.
Lassinagh Brae was finally successful in the third attempt of the season as he dominated the 569 yards track in 31.05 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Carrowkeal Zak, by a length.
To ensure the consistency in Lassinagh Brae’s performance so that he pairs up the victories through the fourth career start, trainer, Harty, made him practice over 600 yards. Lassinagh Brae mastered the track distance in 33.31 seconds on 5th April
at the Shelbourne Park.
Ders Always One, Westmead Diver’s three-year-old blue and white son out of b***h, Ballymac Freddie, is unbeaten through the two seasonal starts. He won a 550 yards race at Cork on 31st March by completing the trip in 30.25 seconds and leading
the runner up of the race, Colling Wood, by a length.
After striking the seasonal debut, Ders Always One went onto dominate the second outing of the season too. On 7th April he won a 575 yards’ race at Cork by reaching the other end of the wire in 31.04 seconds.
Both are bound to give each other a tough time tonight.
