What is the last name of the really short guy named Eddie who played for the White Sox and got walked. He was talked about on the yankees game today comparing his height to the left knee of Sexson.

You're probably thinking of Eddie Gaedel who played for the St. Louis Browns.  He was a midget who was 3 feet and 7 inches tall and signed by owner Bill Veeck.  He appeared in game on August 19, 1951 and got walked and was immediately replaced with a pinch-runner.  The league office was not amused and voided the contract the next day.
