Last leg of Pool B matches starts today in Austria – 2012 CEV Men’s European Volleyball League

The first-round of 2012 CEV Men’s European Volleyball League is supposed to be closed after the last leg of the matches, which will take place from June 21-23.
In Pool B, Austria is scheduled to provide the backdrop for last leg of the opening round. Teams from Romania, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Czech Republic have installed their bases in Hard, Austria and soon the action will start.
The hosts will take on visiting Turks in the opening match on Thursday. The two teams are scheduled to take centre stage in the afternoon at Sporthalle am See HARD. Likewise, Czech Republic and the Netherlands will come into stride in the next match on day-1
of the final flight of league round.
According to the set formula of Confederation European de Volleyball (CEV), two matches will be played on each day.
On Friday, Austria will have a take on Dutch counterparts. On the other hand, Czech Republic will clash with Turkey. Eventually, the hosts Austria will meet Czech Republic in the last match of the final leg, whereas Turkey and Netherlands will also go neck-to-neck
in their last match of league round on same day.
Austria, which is currently staying in the top-five teams of the tournament, has played a total of nine matches. The last leg of the tournament is quite influential for Austrian squad. Austria has an overall record of 4-5, which certainly needs to be improved.
The players mentored by Michael Warm are determined to take full advantage of the familiar conditions. Likewise, the rowdy Austrian fans are psyched to join the action.
Speaking of the upcoming matches, Austria’s top gun Thomas Zass said: “We already had very positive experiences with our home rounds in the past years and we are extremely happy to play in Hard. I hope we’ll have a full house and a great ambiance, it will
be our duty to provide our fans with great Volleyball”.
All matches will get media coverage. However, the head coach of Austrian national team Michael Warm stressed that people should come and catch the live action of volleyball. In this regards, he added, “We know some great Volleyball will be offered this weekend
in Hard and so I wish we could have full stands there. We have seen a couple of weeks ago in Jablonec what it means to play in front of a full house.”
