Question:

Last minute Miami - Caribbean cruise booking for non-Americans??

My boyfriend and I are planning 2-week holiday to Miami in March - we'd like to book a short Caribbean cruise while we are there. Is it difficult for non- Americans to book a last minute cruise? (Is the security tighter etc? We'll have our passports of course, but would further checks or a waiting period be required also?)

  1. If you're booking now for March you should be fine as long as you can get the visas (if any), and there's availability.

A short (3 or 4 night) cruise from Miami will go to the Bahamas, so at least you'd only need one visa.

There's a link below with information on which nationalities need a Bahamian visa, and how to get one.

I'd recommend that unless you have a very knowledgeable travel agent you should call the cruise lines directly to book, as they will have experience with this sort of situation and can tell you for sure.

    Carnival: 1-888-227-6482

    RCI: 1-866-562-7625

    Enjoy your trip!

  2. Try http://www.wiitravel.com click on "book travel" then on cruises, you wont have any problems if you have your passport. have fun

  3. A great, cheap website to use is www.ticketsavvy.com  have a good time!!  I'm not sure how to answer your waiting period questions?  good luck!

  4. You shold not go it is the hurricane season so go to europe Romania it is very beautiful there

  5. Depends on what you mean by "last minute".  The cruise lines have to submit their passenger lists for security clearance, so they need some lead time - the cruise line would be able to tell you how long and whether there are any special considerations for people with foreign passports.  March will be a difficult time to find vacancies, especially if price is a consideration, because it is prime cruising time [Spring break, Easter week].
