  1. Jewish (Ashkenazic): variant of Listman, an ornamental name, composed of German List ‘cunning’ or Lust ‘joy’, ‘pleasure’ (with the vowel change from u to i peculiar to the Yiddish dialect spoken in Poland) + Mann ‘man’.

    Dutch: variant of Lies.

  2. I just Googled it, and the closest match I found was Lismore. I'm no expert, so maybe there are other spellings that are closer to yours, that one just looked close to me.

    Lismore Surname Origin

(Locality). A parish in Argyleshire, Scotland. The name signifies the large gardens. Lis or Lios, Celtic, a garden, and mor, large.

I'm no etymologist (don't even know if I spelled that right) but I would think Lisman would refer to being a gardener maybe?
