If elected, and given John McCain's dismal record on Civil Rights, doesn't that spell trouble for education in this country?

  1. Nice.  And his support of the vouchers system is not exemplary of the comprehensive reform needed in this nation.

  2. John McCain is an Idiot.

  3. Oh,yes. McCain says he's for a lot of things where his voting record shows otherwise. Some big ones that come to mind:

Votes NO on significant bills funding services and programs for veterans.

Blocking alternative energy bills (even solar in his home state of Arizona)

Votes NO on any education bill that would fund from closing corporate loopholes.

  4. "Education" seems to be a high-sounding issue everyone can agree on as long as we don`t get too specific about what it means or how to implement specific programs.  Remember when the earlier Bush called himself the "education president?"

  5. Haha, awesome.

  6. Not at all that I can see.

  7. Flip- flop

  8. McCain's policy is to let people choose their schools--to make teachers accountable-- to encourage charter schools.  To take the power out of education. Educatoin sucks millions of dollars. It is never enough. It is not efficient.  But what would one expect, when one lets the govt be in charge.

  9. I do not think public education could get any worse.  Why is it so bad?

Those whites who have the money (usually the smart and motivated ones) send their kids to private schools.  Hence, the public schools are populated by blacks ands other lower class people who either do not want to learn or cannot learn.

  10. It's all about competition instead of status quo. We know that what we have is not working so you have to shake things up to make it work. That principle applies to businesses too.

It's a new world economy. The old way of education is fading away.
