Same gas station, same grade of gas. I have a new car, less than 3 months old. Has anyone noticed this type of change as the price of gas increases?

  1. could be the diffence between summer blend and winter blend....could be the rate at which you pumped the gas in....always choose the slowest setting ....maybe the new gas was cut with ethanol....it is cheaper but kills mileage

  2. CHANGE IN GAS MILEAGE

  3. That is quite interesting.

  4. It has to do with how you have been driving.  If you were driving a lot of highway miles and filled up the reading would be high than if you had been driving a lot of city miles.  The computer averages your recent mileage with how full the tank is.

  5. was the temp warmer?  is your air filter diry, did you leave the handbrake on the last notch, was there a wind blowing?   Is 'empty' reallly Empty-or even the same?   did you forget to re-pump your tyres to correct pressures, were you carrying a different load? more passengers?   up & down different hills

  6. That's due to different driving conditions such as traffic, stop lights, etc.
