Ive heard there changing the surface at the French making it a little faster. I was wondering last year what was the surface like ? Will it be a dramatic change compared to last years surface. For starts i dont no why there doing this and also heard making wimbledon slower, its pretty stupid. I just want to no how fast there making the clay this year, is it as fast as hamburg ?

  1. Hamburg has one of the fastest clay courts in the tour . So I don't think it will be as fast as Hamburg. But it is definitely faster. Last year was also a bit fast when compared to previous years.

And last years Wimbledon was defintely slower than previous years with many consistant grass court players struggling.

  2. i think they are, but i don't think that is going to do anything about nadal winning the french open

  3. The games last really long, so the sponsors put pressure on the tournament directors.  It will make a little difference, but hopefully not change the essence of the tournament.

  4. It won't be a dramatic change, but it will be noticeable to the clay players. They're trying to even out the speed of the surfaces. I think its stupid also. Viva la difference!

I like the old slow surface, because Roland Garos is famous for crazy games as a result. Nice crazy games. Fun fun fun. You never know what will happen there.

  5. I honestly think making the clay faster at Roland Garros, or making the grass slower at Wimbledon is absolutely ridiculous.  There are reasons for different surfaces in tennis.  If they try to keep making all the surfaces alike, why not just pave over the grass and clay and make them all medium speed hardcourts.

Let the players adjust to the surface, not adjust the surface to the players.  This whole making the surface faster or slower just don't make any sense to me.

  6. Yes they want to make it faster. Its dumb.
