Question:

Last year before i started running, i had 1 vein on my calf showing, now a year later, i have like 3 veins now

is that normal?

  1. It is normal in that your calf muscles are growing and that is pushing some of the larger veins towards the surface.

    If you are running such that your calves are growing, then you are probably running on your toes.  If you are doing this then this smaller muscle is going to fatigue faster.  If you run correctly (on the balls of the feet), then you will be using your glutes and hamstrings which are much larger and can withstand running.

  2. It means that you're legs are using more blood.  Because they need more blood, more blood  vessels are made.  It is normal, and it isn't a bad thing. It's actually good.

  3. yeah. I have this one vein on my left calf and when I work out, it shows alot! It does kinda gross me out... but that's because it's on my leg and I'm not use to it. I have another vein that shows on my knee and a little on my shin, but I like that one... to me it just shows that I am healthy and active. I actually think it's kinda hot on guys, looks more masculine.
