Last year was the El Nino. How will snow fall totals add up this year?

I live near DC and last year we didn't get 1 inch of snow at all.

Actually, it was a La Nina event (opposite of El Nino), which has now ended.  It cannot be predicted with any reliability how much snow will fall there this season, but since La Nina has ended maybe it will be closer to average.  The latest forecasts give equal chances for above, near, or below average precipitation this winter for that region.
