Laszlo Cseh is the one of the most talented and passionate swimmers Hungary has produced. His dynamic swimming techniques and aggressive strategy, has brought Laszlo many awards and accolades for his beloved country. He has proved his talent several times
in the events of Individual Medley, butterfly and back-stroke at all international levels
He has represented his country once at the World Short Course Championships, twice at the Olympic Games, four times at the World Long Course Championships and European Long Course Championships, as well as five times at the European Short Course Championships.
He made a debut to his international swimming career at the 2002 European Championships in Riesa, where he conquered a bronze medal in the 400m IM. His victory on his first international meet made him the new star of Hungary.
Cseh put more effort into his training session and his hard work placed him one-step higher on the podium during the 2003 World Championships, where he won a silver medal in the 400m IM. After a few months, Cseh became the idol of Hungarian fans when he
earned the gold medal in same event at the European Short Course Championships.
In 2004, he defended his title at the same championships in Vienna. This time he extended his participation at the competition, as he also won the silver medal in 200m IM and a bronze medal in the 100m back-stroke. The same year at European Championships,
he earned two gold medals in 100m back-stroke and the 400m IM along with the bronze medal in 4*100m medley relay. His podium ensuring performance at the European level qualified him for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. 25-year-old Cseh demonstrated his skills
among the swimming elite in the 400m IM and reached the podium for the bronze medal.
2005 was his golden year, as the Hungarian swimmer proved his eligibility for three golden crowns at the European Championships, capturing the events of 200m IM, 400m IM and the 100m back-stroke. The same year at the World Championships, Cseh amused the
arena by touching the wall first for the gold medal in the 400m IM along with a silver and bronze in the 200m IM and 100m back-stroke respectively.
In 2006, Cseh added the 200m butterfly to his medal roster at the European Championships. Cseh won three medals including a gold medal in 200m IM and two silver medals in the 400m IM and 200m butterfly. After few months, he showed his skills at the European
Championships, where he claimed the titles of both IM events along with the silver medal of the 200m back-stroke.
At the 2007 European Championships, he pocketed three gold medals in the 200m IM, 200m butterfly and the 400m IM. Then, at the World Championships, he only secured one bronze medal in the 200m IM.
Cseh’s performance then boosted at the 2008 European Championships, where he defended his titles of the 200m IM and the 400m IM with great audacity. He qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and won three silver medals in the events of 200m butterfly,
200m IM and 400m IM before the great champion Michael Phelps.
In 2010, at the European Championships, he again defended his IM events and qualified for the 2010 World Championships in Dubai. Cseh displayed a wonderful swim at the Dubai Aquatic Centre that provided him a bronze medal in the 200m butterfly.
Now in 2011, the Hungarian fans have laid their eyes on Cseh for the upcoming World Championships in Shanghai and the 2012 London Olympics. Cseh intends to exceed the crowd’s expectation at the upcoming world stages and desires to provide more to his fans
worldwide
