Laszlo Cseh dominates Men’s 100m butterfly prelims: Day five – European LC Championships
Laszlo Cseh of Hungary dominated the qualification rounds of Men’s 100m butterfly on day five of the continued European Long Course Championships in Debrecen, Hungary on Friday, May 25.
The 26-year-old Cseh stayed considerably ahead of his following swimmers and transpired on the finishing end for fastest qualification spot of the race.
With his remarkable sprint, he faced no trouble in snaring top qualification spot of the event as he made his way to the finishing end with the timing of 52.32 seconds.
His scintillating effort remained 0.11 seconds slower from his subsequent swimmer, Matteo Rivolta of Italy, who tapped the finishing end with the timing of 52.43 seconds.
Third fastest qualification spot of the event was secured by Milorad Cavic of Serbia, who stayed just a touch away from his former finisher and transpired on the finishing blockade with the timing of 52.46 seconds.
Similarly, Cavic was chased by Bence Pulai of Hungary, who remained 0.22 seconds apart and secured fourth finest spot of the event by clocking a time of 52.68 seconds.
With his exhausting efforts, Pulai remained 0.04 seconds slower from Francois Heersbrandt of Belgium, who occupied fifth position of the 100m event by touching the wall with the timing of 52.72 seconds.
On the other hand, Aleksandra Urbanczyk of Poland dictated terms to her opponents in the preliminary rounds of Women’s 50m backstroke.
The 24-year-old Urbanczyk made her way to the finishing end for first position by clocking a time of 28.44 seconds.
She was followed by Mercedes Peris Minguet of Spain, who was only 0.01 seconds apart and posted a time of 28.45 seconds for second position.
Third finest spot of the event was secured by Arianna Barbieri of Italy, who was 0.10 seconds slower from her former finisher and clocked an effort of 28.55 seconds.
Barbieri was chased by her team-member, Carlotta Zofkova, who was 0.17 seconds apart and posted a time of 28.72 seconds for fourth position.
The session ended after the completion of all preliminary rounds of the scheduled events while these swimmers will face each other in the semi-finals of their exclusive events.
