Laszlo Cseh excels in Men’s 400m IM prelims: Day seven – European LC Championships
Laszlo Cseh of Hungary excelled in the qualification rounds of Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on day seven of the European Long Course Championships in Debrecen, Hungary on Sunday, May 27.
The 26-year-old Cseh demonstrated his stupendous efforts in the distant IM discipline and cruised his way towards the finishing end for first position.
With his epic pace, he stayed nearly two strokes ahead of his closest competitor and occupied the fastest qualification spot of the event by submitting a time of 4 minutes and 16.14 seconds.
Cseh was chased Gal Nevo of Israel, who stayed 0.41 seconds apart and transpired on the finishing blockade as second best finisher by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 16.55 seconds.
Subsequently, Nevo remained 0.26 seconds ahead of Luca Marin of Italy, who secured third fastest spot of the race by producing a time of 4 minutes and 16.81 seconds.
Marin was chased by David Verraszto of Hungary, who was 0.20 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall for fourth position with the timing of 4 minutes and 17.01 seconds.
The 23-year-old Verraszto was chased by Maxym Shemberyev of Ukraine, who was full body length apart and surfaced on the finishing wall as fifth best finisher with an effort of 4 minutes and 17.86 seconds.
Sixth finest spot of the discipline was obtained by Ward Bauwens of Belgium, who remained 0.38 seconds behind and appeared on the finishing blockade with an effort of 4 minutes and 18.24 seconds.
Bauwens was trailed by Lukasz Wojt of Poland, who was 0.31 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and clocked a timing of 4 minutes and 18.55 seconds for seventh position.
The 30-year-old Wojt was chased by Ioannis Drymonakos of Greece, who succeeded in outperforming his former swimmers and settled on the finishing blockade as eighth position holder by reporting a time of 4 minutes and 18.77 seconds.
In addition, the audience appreciated gruelling efforts of all participants in the qualification rounds of the distant IM event while these finalists will face each other in the playoff to secure top spot on the podium.
