Laszlo Cseh impresses at the Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011 – Swimming News
The 2011 Hungarian Long Course Nationals got-off to a flying start with the impressive performance of Hungarian swimmer, Laszlo Cseh, in the Men’s 100m butterfly event at Debrecen, Hungary, on June 23.
Initially, Cseh edged out Bence Biczo and Bence Pulai in the Men’s 100m butterfly event with a record time of 51.98 seconds. Most importantly, the Hungarian swimmer broke his previous record of 52.49 seconds set in 2009 and improved to 5th spot
in the international swimming rankings of the current year.
Benjamin Starke retained the current number one spot in the Men’s 100m butterfly meet with a sterling time of 51.65 seconds. Michael Phelps of United States was placed second in the corresponding race with a time of 51.75 seconds, while Takuro Fujii settled
third in 51.84 seconds. Joeri Verlinden earned third place honours with a time of 51.85 seconds.
Meanwhile, Biczo was placed second in the Men’s 100m butterfly meet with a time of 53.61 seconds and Pulai rounded out the top three in a time of 53.86 seconds.
Cseh also took home the Men’s 200m freestyle title with a winning time of 1 minute and 50.36 seconds. Placed second in the following meet was Peter Bernek with a time of 1 minute and 50.79 seconds, while Balazs Zambo hit the finishing wall in 1 minute and
51.02 seconds to claim the bronze medal.
In another exciting event, Cseh claimed his third title of the night in the Men’s 50m back-stroke event with a triumphant time of 26.12 seconds. Retaining second spot in the respective race was Gabor Balog with a time of 26.23 seconds, whereas, Adam Szilagyi
earned third place honours in a time of 26.59 seconds.
Laszlo Cseh is a well-known swimmer of Hungary, who has expertise in all professional styles of swimming, such as the back-stroke, freestyle and Individual Medley races.
He won the gold medal in the Men’s 400m medley final at the 2005 World Championships in Montreal. He also nabbed three silver titles in the Men’s 200m butterfly, 200m medley and 400m medley events at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
