Laszlo Cseh pockets Men’s 200m butterfly gold – European SC Swimming Championships
Laszlo Cseh of Hungary pocketed gold medal of the Men’s 200m butterfly on third day of the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Chartres, France on Saturday, November 24.
Cseh showed no leniency to his opponents in the distant butterfly discipline and went full rampant towards the finishing wall to secure the crown.
With his relentless efforts in the 200m discipline, Cseh enjoyed a prominent lead over his challengers and cruised his way towards the finishing wall for the title by producing a time of 1 minute and 52.11 seconds.
The gold medallist was traced by Viktor B. Bromer of Denmark, who was 1.27 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing blockade for silver medal by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 53.38 seconds.
Bromer remained 0.09 seconds ahead of Joeri Verlinden of Netherlands, who was lucky enough to secure third fastest spot on the medal rostrum as he hit the finishing end by clocking a time of 1 minute and 53.47 seconds.
The third position holder was trailed by Bence Biczo of Hungary, who stayed 0.17 seconds slower and touched the wall for fourth position by producing an effort of 1 minute and 53.64 seconds.
Similarly, fifth position of the race was obtained by Gal Nevo of Israel, who stayed 0.32 seconds slower from upsetting his foregoing finisher and emerged on the wall by clocking a time of 1 minute and 53.96 seconds.
Nevo was chased by Jordan Coelho of France, who stayed 0.25 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 54.21 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Francesco Pavone of Italy, who was 0.05 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 54.26 seconds.
Pavone was chased by Egon van der Straeten of Belgium, who was 1.08 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 55.34 seconds for eighth position.
Furthermore, Cseh was contented with his gold winning effort and collected medal after the race.
