Laszlo Cseh secures Men’s 200m IM gold – 2012 European SC Swimming Championships
Laszlo Cseh of Hungary secured gold medal of the Men’s 200m Individual Medley (IM) on day one of the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Chartres, France on Thursday, November 22.
The Hungarian swimmer demonstrated his astonishing pace in the race and proved his eligibility for the title. He faced little competition from his closest swimmer and tapped the wall for gold medal.
With his gruelling efforts in the eight-lap discipline, Cseh showed no mercy to his opponents and raked gold medal of the race by producing an effort of 1 minute and 52.74 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Jeremy Stravius of France, who remained 0.26 seconds behind and finished second in the race by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 54.00 seconds.
Stravius was trailed by Gal Nevo of Israel, who stayed 1.14 seconds away from his former finisher and surfaced on the finishing end for third position by submitting a time of 1 minute and 55.14 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Diogo Filipe Carvalho, who stayed 0.20 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and tapped the finishing end with an effort of 1 minute and 55.34 seconds.
Carvalho was traced by Chris Christensen of Denmark, who stayed 1.17 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and transpired on the finishing end for fifth place by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 56.51 seconds.
Sixth position of the race was obtained by David Verraszto of Hungary, who was 0.02 seconds slower from his former finisher and hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 56.53 seconds.
Verraszto was followed by Federico Turrini of Italy, who stayed 0.18 seconds behind and concluded his race in a time of 1 minute and 56.71 seconds for seventh position.
Last spot of the event was obtained by Martin Liivamagi of Estonia, who was 0.62 seconds behind and completed his race in eighth place by posting a time of 1 minute and 57.33 seconds.
Furthermore, Cseh was happy with his top finish in the race and received accolade at the prize ceremony of the race.
