Laszlo Cseh seizes Men’s 400m IM gold – 2012 European SC Swimming Championships
Laszlo Cseh of Hungary seized gold medal of the Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on second day of the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Chartres, France on Friday, November 23.
The Hungarian swimmer continued his breath-taking efforts in the distant IM discipline from the start and ensured his place on top of the victory stand for gold medal.
With his relentless efforts, he stayed in a prominent lead over his opponents and tapped the wall for gold medal by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 00.99 seconds.
His stupendous effort remained 1.55 seconds faster from David Verraszto of Hungary, who proved his mettle for silver medal of the event by producing a time of 4 minutes and 02.54 seconds.
Verraszto was traced by Gal Nevo of Israel, who stayed 2.26 seconds away from improving his position and stepped on the medal rostrum for bronze medal by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 04.80 seconds.
Fourth spot of the race was obtained by Chris Christensen of Denmark, who stayed nearly two body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing end with the timing of 4 minutes and 06.51 seconds.
Subsequently, Christensen was chased by Maxym Shemberyev of Ukraine, who stayed nearly 0.80 seconds behind and hit the finishing end for fifth position by touching the wall with a timing of 4 minutes and 07.39 seconds.
Sixth position of the event was obtained by Federico Turrini of Italy, who was 0.33 seconds apart and posted a time of 4 minutes and 07.72 seconds.
Turrini was traced by Diogo Filipe Carvalho, who stayed considerably slower form his former finisher and made his way to the finishing end as seventh fastest swimmer by clocking an effort of 4 minutes and 10.05 seconds.
Carvalho was followed by Viktor B Bromer of Denmark, who stayed 0.38 seconds slower from his former finisher and posted a time of 4 minutes and 10.43 seconds for eighth place.
In addition, Cseh was happy with his gold finish in the race and expressed his desire of achieving the same at forthcoming 2012 World Short Course Championships.
