Question:

Late Fruiting Pear Trees...?

I know that our Pear Tree fruits quite late in the year (August/September). Does anyone know why?

I've been told it's to do with the conditions at that time of year, but what is it about Pears that need those particular conditions?

By the way, I'm talking English weather here...
