Question:

Late child support (but current) shows on my credit report?

On my credit report it shows that I was late 3 times on my child support out of 10 years of payments. I live in Calif. and if you have your ex collect child support through the DA's office it becomes an automatic wage garnishment (at least that is what I have been told) and has been deducted from my paychecks. It then becomes my employers responsibility to pay the support to the DA's office. The 3 times it has been late was not because I did not have it deducted, but because my ex employer did not pay it on time. I have NEVER been in arrears and the latest my payments have been made to the DA's office is maybe 10 days, but yet through no fault of my own, it shows on my credit report. I became unemployed about 4 years ago for about 6 months and made every one of my payments on time and the DA"s office eventually quit having money taken out of my paychecks and has allowed me to pay on my own and I have not missed or been late on a single payment. I am one of those fathers that believe in supporting my child even if I have to work 2 or 3 jobs. Is there anything I can do to remove these late marks from my report. I have disputed this on my credit report with these facts, do you think it will help? Thank you.
