The website said US Postal Service First Class Mail®

Estimated delivery 2-5 days* I bought it on sunday and I went to the website to check the status of my order and it still says processing...

It is now Friday and I still don't have a confirmation of it leaving the warehouse and I still didn't recieve it yet. This is my first purchase off of ebay. How come USPS takes so long to deliver...

  1. First of all the delivery confirmation number is NOT a tracking number.  It won't tell you where it is at the moment.  It only tells when it left and it'll say when it arrives.  It's more for the seller's protection than yours.  It's ESTIMATED delivery 2-5 days*  .  That * is very important because it means that it can be as long as 14 days.  First class mail is just regular old mail.  If you had selected priority mail, then it arrives at your house in 3 days or less.

Several things need to be taken into account.  Like how you paid.  Did you mail your payment?  Did you use an e-transfer from your bank account or did you do it with paypal funds you already had or with a credit card.  IF you used one of the first 2 methods, they have to wait for the payment to arrive and clear first and THEN ship it out.  Then it depends on where the seller is and where you are.  The further away you guys are (like coast to coast) the longer it's going to take.  You can click 'contact seller' and send them a friendly email asking them when the estimated date of shipment was.  More than likely it wasn't mailed out until at least Wednesay or so depending on what their shipping policy is (like all shipments ship within 3 or 4 days after payment clears or something like that).  So be patient.  Unless you select overnight or priority mail or UPS or FedEx shipping, you can plan that you won't get your item for 1-2 weeks from the day you purchased it.  Ebay is a learning lesson.  If you select a cheap method of shipping, it's going to take longer.  If you needed it like yesterday, go out and find it yourself.  Other than that it's all about being patient.  :-)

  2. USPS delivery time for First Class Mail may indeed take 2-5 days. But, you have to consider that it is 2-5 days AFTER the package is handed off to USPS. You also need to consider that there was a National Holiday on Friday.

You say that you checked the status of your order. If your order is still "processing" then that would mean that USPS doesn't have your package yet. I am not aware of any statement that would result in the use of the word processing on a USPS website.
