How is latent heat involved in the formation of a cloud?

  1. In the atmosphere, condensation of water vapour(which is a gas)into water droplets(which is a liquid), produces clouds.As the condensation is a process which involves a change of state from a higher level(gas) to a lower level(liquid)),energy (in the form of heat )

    is released and this is the latent heat of condensation.Intense storms like hurricanes derive their energy from this latent heat of condensation only.
