City to go for Torres if they fail to land Dzeko
Reports coming out of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 suggest that Wolfsburg have slapped a £38m price tag on star striker Edin Dzeko. This news has supposedly ‘rocked’ Manchester City, who will not be willing to pay more than £30m for the Bosnian.
Manchester City want to lower their wage bill and their spending in order to meet FIFA’s fair play rule, which will soon be introduced.
This is when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 comes into play. He was once Roberto Mancini’s number one transfer target but with Liverpool reluctant to sell, he had to look elsewhere. However, City now believe that Torres can be lured from Anfield, thanks to the current
situation at the club.
Having said that, it makes little sense that if they can’t pay £38m for Dzeko, how will they conjure up nearly £50m for the Spaniard – whose wages will surely be higher than that of Dzeko’s.
This really doesn’t make much sense to be honest.
Spurs want the want away ‘Samba’ star – No he is not Brazilian
According to British press, Blackburn Rovers' skipper is a transfer target for Tottenham Boss, Harry Redknapp.
The big centre back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212, has not hidden his disgust at the sudden departure of his previous manager, Sam Allardyce, and looks set to leave Ewood Park in January.
There are even suggestions that Samba is ready to hand in a transfer request prior to the upcoming transfer window.
This has alerted several Premier League clubs, which of course include Tottenham – who just seem to love sign centre backs.
If Samba joins spurs he will be their 7th first team centre back. The other six being http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/William-Gallas-c36874, Sebastien Bassong, Younus Kaboul and Jonathon Woodgate.
The 6ft 4in centre back has made more than 150 appearances in just under four years at Blackburn and will be available for around £7m. That is some money for your 7th choice centre back.
West Ham considering Chris Houghton
Chris Houghton is a target of West Ham if they eventually show the door to Avram Grant, who has reportedly been given a 3 games ultimatum. He needs to win at least one of them to keep the job. He has started off with a draw.
And to make things spicier, Chris Houghton is supposedly a childhood fan of West Ham United.
Upton Park ready for a clear out
West Ham are considering a major overhaul of their current squad. With no more than six players out of contract in the summer, the Hammers are ready to let them leave for an acceptable fee in January.
One of these players could be Mathew Upson. West Ham are now willing to listen to offers for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 International. According to reports, Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in signing Upson and any fee that is generated from the sales will go
towards new recruits.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steve-Sidwell-c34181 is expected to have a medical with West ham and the arrival of Jamie O Hara from Tottenham is also much on the cards.
Others to join Mathew Upson could be Kieron Dyer, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Gabbidon.
West Ham are also expected to listen to offers for Carlton Cole, who too was a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 target in the summer. Meanwhile, midfielder Valon Behrami is destined to return to Italy after failing to find a regular starting role within Avram Grant's side.
Denilson and Bendtner to stay at Emirates – for the time being at least
Two players who were rumoured to be moving away from North London have shown their commitment to the club. Denilson wrote on Twitter that he “want(s) to stay at Arsenal.”
Nicolas Bendtner is also relishing the chance to fight for a starting berth in the Arsenal line up. He said, "I want to get back to 100 per cent, get back into the squad and take my chances when I get them to prove I should be there. At the end of the season,
we can see where I am, see where the team is and how well we have done.
"I hope we will win something this season. We have a great chance in the Carling Cup which I hope we will take full advantage of. The FA Cup is coming up and we are still in the Champions League. I think it looks positive."
