Latest ICC rankings: Graeme Swann achieves career-best No. 3
ICC has announced revised rankings of teams and players after the one-day series between England and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 concluded in Southampton on Wednesday, 22nd September with the hosts winning the series by 3-2.
English off-spinner Graeme Swann’s stellar performance against Pakistan in the recently concluded ODI series earned him his career-best, third place in the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers.
Pakistan’s skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482, has dropped out of the top ten table and has slipped to 16th position. The team ranking of both sides, however, has remained unchanged.
Swann, 31, finished the five-match ODI series 11 wickets with a prolific performance of 3-26 at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rose-c86842 Bowl. The outstanding performance earned Swann a notable jump of 15 places which has put him at No. 3 complementing his second position in the Reliance Mobile
ICC Rankings for Test bowlers.
The right-arm off-break bowler is also among the nominees to receive the Sir Garfield Sobers Cricketer of the Year Trophy at the LG ICC Awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on 6th of next month.
The other English bowler, who has improved his ICC ranking, is fast bowler James Anderson. The right-arm swing bowler has moved into 12th position after climbing four places following his six wickets in the series. Stuart Broad, the third most successful
bowler of the ODI series, increased his points with a series tally of 11 wickets but retained his sixth position.
The overall ODI bowling table is headed by Daniel Vettori of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 in the second position. The Bengali tiger is also leading the Reliance Mobile ICC Player Rankings for ODI all-rounders with 382 points.
For Pakistan, off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has jumped four places to 13th position after a haul of nine wickets while the pace duo of Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Gul have also moved up significantly in the rankings table. Umar Gul, who has topped the wickets-chart
of recently concluded ODI series with a tally of 12 wickets, has moved 18 places up, which has put him in the 23rd position while his partner, express pacer Shoaib Akhtar has rocketed 14 places to No. 45 after picking up eight wickets in the series.

Eoin Morgan, who has totalled 225 runs in the recently concluded ODI series including his match-winning unbeaten 107 at Rose Bowl, has rocketed six places to reach his career best No. 14 ranking. Morgan’s 14th spot on the batting table has made
him the highest-ranked one-day batsman of England. The victorious skipper of England, Andrew Strauss sits just behind Morgan in the 15th spot with 670 points as compared to Morgan’s 676. Strauss was the man of the ODI series with a tally of 317
runs including a ton and two half-centuries.
Wicketkeeper batsman of England, Steve Davies has also entered the ICC rankings at No. 113 after logging 197 runs in his maiden series.
Paul Collingwood, however, has failed to maintain his pre-series spot by slipping five places reaching 19th position, while Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan, who was playing an ODI series after a gap of six months, has slipped seven places to 25th
position.
Shahid Afridi has also failed to retain his top spot on the ODI all-rounder table handing over the top spot to Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh. Afridi picked up 4 wickets and compiled 99 runs in the ODI series against England, that the side lost in the end
by 3-2, has slipped to third position. The only good news for Pakistan is an improved batting ranking of Kamran Akmal, who has climbed 8 places in the latest rankings and now sits at 44th position following his series contribution of 201 runs.
