The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 president asked the Brazilian to leave Rhone in the final days of the summer transfer window who is a little sad with the way things were conducted before his departure
After eight years of loyal service to the club, former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international, Cris was sent away from Olympique Lyonnais very quietly and discretely through the back door. Now, the defender is playing for Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray where he is still
getting a hang of things.
Gently pushed by the scouring Les Gones leaders in order to reduce Lyon’s wage bill, Cris still has a lot of bitterness at the way his transfer was handled by a club where he won so much and was an icon.
While talking about his new base in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cris-c9486 says that he is still settling in at a club where the atmosphere is different and the language is different. Although he admits that it’s tough to talk to most of his teammates he is gradually getting used
to his new surroundings.
“The hardest thing is to speak and talk with others. I found two Brazilians, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Felipe-Melo-c13535 and Claudio Taffarel. There are Africans who speak French which I speak.”
Happy to take on a new challenge in his illustrious footballing career, the defender is still coming to terms with the unceremonious end of his career at Stade de Gerland. Although he understands that the club had no other option but to sell him, Cris feels
that the president could have done things a little differently.
“I understand that the club wanted to get rid of some players, but we can talk quietly around a table face to face. The president is a person who helped me a lot, it would have been easier to call me to tell me things. I’m a little sad and disappointed.
Compared to everything that has happened, it is a lack of recognition.”
And, Jean-Michel Aulas is very surprised by his former player’s comments. The Lyon supremo says that Remi Garde informed Cris that he will not be the club captain and won’t have a big role in the team anymore. However, Aulas shows no remorse at his actions
and says that, “If it happened again, I would do exactly the same thing.”
