  1. Although Latin America didn't literally exist before Columbus (the term Latin means they speak a latin tongue like spanish) South and Central America was a rich land with great civilizations like the Incas (Peru), Mayas (Guatemala) and Aztecs (Mexico). Some people think that the Spanish conquerors came to "civilize" America but the fact is that those civilizations were greatly developed in terms of maths, astrology, religion (they had their own), language (their own) etc and not because they didn't speak, write or communicate in a latin language meant they were savages!

Before Columbus there were no illnesses in America, spanish people brought chicken pox, measles, the flu and all sorts of diseases.

America before Columbus was the land of chocolate, potatoes and tomatoes and several other delicacies which the europeans didn't have.

Although the Incas were warriors, their 3 main laws were: don't lie, don't steal and don't be idle and they all followed these laws closely. The people living in America before Columbus were very developed.

  2. So did the conquistadores...

  3. There was no Latin America before Christopher.

But anyways... It was nice before him and it's still nice after him. Although a bit different.
