Swansea City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup revealed that midfielder, Joe Allen was an ‘important’ part of his future plans for the Welsh club, and insisted that his impressive performance last season
were bound to catch the attention of bigger clubs.
The Welsh footballer is reportedly under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s radar, who have recently stepped up their efforts in order to land the player.
Allen, who initially penned a three year contract with the Swans in 2009, signed a four year extension in 2011, tying him to the Liberty Stadium until 2015.
In total, he has represented Swansea in 147 games in all competitions, and netted 7 goals.
Rodgers, who parted ways with the Welsh side to take over the reins of Anfield, earlier signed a compensation deal with the Swans. The agreement barred the Irishman from signing any of the Swansea players for the next 12 months.
Nevertheless, the 48-year-old Danish legend unearthed that he was not familiar with the club’s deal with the Northern Irishman. He believed that Liverpool’s interest in the talented midfielder was understandable, but indicated that he was not willing to
let go of him.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I haven't heard anything from Liverpool. If and when this turns into a fact and not just a rumour, we will deal with it. But I want Joe to stay because I think he is a very important player for the team.”
Alex’s move away from the Liberty Stadium could prove to be a big setback for the Swans, as they have already lost the services of Gylfi Sigurdsson, who signed for Tottenham Hotspur.
With the possibility of losing out on another one of their star players looming over their heads, Laudrup indicated that given the Swans impressive performances last season, it was only a matter of time before big clubs came knocking on the door for their
players.
He added, “When people are doing well, when a team like Swansea come into the Premier League and do well in their first season, it's normal that there will be interest in some of their players.”
The manager then went on to praise his team for making an immediate impact in the Premier League, and introducing a new playing style to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
