Nonetheless, the 48-year old Dane pointed out that impressions can change quickly in football.
He explained that at the start of the season, everyone was talking about his team’s chances of surviving in the top division. However, following their scintillating start, talk of a possible slot in Europe began to do the rounds, and a couple of defeats
lately have put them back from where they started.
“Before the first game, a lot of people said Swansea will be one of the four favourites to get relegated,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“Then we won two games and people were saying ‘Could they go into Europe? That’s not serious, to be honest, because we had only played two games…Football is about emotions and dreams for the fans, but inside we have to stay calm and stay level.”
The Welsh club made their debut EPL appearance last season and won the plaudits of the football world with their overachieving campaign and their stylish brand of football.
Despite all the hype created by the media over their prospects of repeating their last term’s achievements, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup revealed that his prime target was to ensure his team’s survival in the league.
“I think everybody got a bit carried away with the start we made, including you (the media). We are in another part of the league,” he added.
