The Swans cruised to a comfortable 3-1 victory at home over the Potters, and the Danish mentor and the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 star both hailed the club’s impressive performance on the pitch.
Swansea City head coach and on-loan midfielder from Villarreal, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 de Guzman respectively, have both expressed delight over the club’s exciting 3-1 victory against Stoke City at Liberty Stadium on Saturday, January 19.
The Danish mentor, who took the reins of the Jacks before the start of the ongoing 2012/13 season, was all praise for his troops’ showing in front of their home crowd while insisting that the third goal was by far the best.
“The third goal was the best of the afternoon. It had everything we are working towards in training every day, every week, every month. Play one or two-touch into the second line, make a run without the ball and finish. It was a great goal”, Laudrup said
while talking to journalists in the post-match press conference.
De Guzman, who joined the club at the start of the ongoing campaign from Villarreal on a season-long loan deal, was equally delighted with his side’s dominating performance against a team that has the best defence in the Premier League.
“It was a great build up. Wayne passed to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193, he saw me go and he played the flick. Our understanding has always been good and he knows where I am. He put it perfectly in my path and it was there for me to finish off”, the 25-year-old was quoted as saying
to the media.
After a goalless opening half, the Swans resumed proceedings in the second-half impressively, and grabbed the lead in the 49th minute through Benjamin Davies. Eight minutes later, De Guzman doubled his side’s advantage, while the attacking midfielder
netted his second of the evening in the 80th minute to put the match to bed.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 reduced the deficit to two goals at the stroke of full time whistle, but it was a mere consolation goal, as the home side claimed a comfortable 3-1 victory at the end.
