Swansea City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup, was satisfied with a point out of the Reading game, but claimed that they could have gone on to claim a win.
The South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wales-c3041 outfit were held on to a bland draw at the Madejski Stadium in a match in which neither side were able to disturb the scoresheet.
The visitors, though, enjoyed bulk of the possession and created the better of the opportunities. Michu came close of grabbing the opener inside the first period, but scuppered a golden opportunity inside the six yards box, firing his shot over the crossbar.
Adam Federici then, came to rescue of the relegation entrenched Royals, palming away a ferocious strike from Nathan Dyer to keep his side in contention.
The hosts had some chances of their own, with Adam Le Fondre finding the back of the net with his effort, only to see the match official disallowing the goal due to handball. Chico Flores then, made a clearance off the line with the goalkeeper rendered helpless.
Although the 48-year old Dane claimed that his side looked to be the more dominating force, he admitted that the draw was a fair result.
He pointed out that the match was a tricky one for them as they were up against a team pitted at the bottom of the table after having played the league leaders last week.
Swansea played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.
“I’m satisfied with the performance. We dominated the game for long spells and although we only had four or five chances, we could have won the game,” he told the reporters.
“It was a difficult game for us mentally, because we were playing the bottom club on their own ground just a few days after we played the top team and got a draw.”
“So it’s really positive for us that we can maintain the same attitude and focus in both games.”
The Swans have thus far underwent a successful campaign, and are six points better off than this stage of the season last year. The Welsh club have collected 25 points from their 19 matches and have also made it into the semifinal of the Capital One Cup.
