Swansea City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup believes that the Swans need to bolster their attacking front in order to meet the burgeoning challenges of the Premier League this coming season.
The Welsh club took everyone by the storm during the prevenient term, as they pulled off a couple of stunning wins against the top flight teams en route to their eleventh-place finish in the league table.
The Swans were lifted by the performances of their attackers http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Sinclair-c32675, who shared 23 goals between them during the preceding campaign.
In order to build on their successes, the newly appointed Dane manager has already claimed the signatures of Michu, Chico Flores and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-c18993 de Guzman during the summer.
However, Laudrup felt that it was pertinent on the part of his side not to become over reliant on a couple of players, insisting that the entire team will have to step up in order guarantee their survival in the Premier League. He also underscored that Swansea
required a quality striker upfront, who boosted an impressive conversion rate.
While talking to reporters, he said: “It's very important for this team to have players who know how to score goals. You cannot just rely on one or two players and say we hope these two will score 25 goals between them. If you do that you can end up falling
a little short.”
In order to strengthen his offensive muscle, the Dane is reportedly pursuing the Getafe forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971.
Earlier, the Welsh club lost their battle in landing the Hoffenheim’s attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, who was their star performer during their 2011/12 campaign.
Nevertheless, Laudrup insisted that his side needs to score goals on consistent basis in order to reduce the pressure on the defenders, and felt that failing in doing so will cause serious problems for them.
“You can look at each player in your squad, add up the average number of goals they score and think you need to find seven or eight more goals. Otherwise you are a little short and that means you have to defend very well.”
