Question:

Laundry Issues... Any Suggestions?

My girfriend did my laundry for me, but she didn't empty my pockets and I had a blue pen in one of my pairs of pants... The pen exploded in the dryer and now all my shirts have blue blotches all over them. Is there any way to get the stains out or are they ruined?

  1. It depends on what your shirts are made from, because if they are cotton you can put them into some cold water with some bleach and let them soak for an hour or so, giving them a light scrub where the blotches are, then you can put them onto a hot wash with some stain remover in with your normal soap powder/liquid, or if they are not cotton pour some neat stain remover onto the blotches and a gentle scrub where the stains are, then give them a warm wash again with some stain remover in with your normal soap powder/liquid, if that does not work i just don't know what else, but i will say that i have been doing washing and removing all sorts of stains for quite a number of years.

  2. I think they have had it friend.  You could try some hairspray (works on ballpoint) but if they have been washed and dried I think it will be permanent.  Incidentally, your girlfriend was kind enough to do your laundry, why didn't you empty your pockets before you put the clothes out for washing?  Just asking as I wondered why you didn't think it was your responsibility.  Hope the hairspray works, use a pad of old towel underneath so that if it does remove it it has somewhere to go.

  3. spray the ink spots WET with hair spray, then rub on a white bar soap. wash in cold

For big splotches wet with hair spray and use the bar soap twice before washing

  4. try nail posish remover, but they are probably ruined
