Laundry Question- Please Help!?

When washing laundry, sometimes spots appear on my shirts that were not there previously. The spots are clearish and impossible to remove. I have tried different detergents but nothing seems to work. Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone know why? Thanks!

  1. thats been happenin to me ! =] my mom says its oil cause im a messy eater -__-

but i get them off using oxy clean stain remover.. or any stain remover may work =]

  2. I used to get that - we have borderline hard water.  I use a cup of Borax with each load and the spotting has stopped.  Borax is easy to find in the laundry aisle, has been around forever and seems to work for me!

  3. I'm betting that you use a liquid fabric softener and you love the smell so you always throw in a little extra.  Too much fabric softener can actually cause those little spots - as soon as you see them - before you dry the material - pretreat the spot with your regular laundry detergent - let it soak for a couple hours and then re-wash.  That usually does the trick.

  4. Sometime fabric softener can cause spots on clothing.Rubbing alcohol and rewashing works on my hubby's grease spotted clothing!

  5. try ace to remove the stains  it never happened before

  6. grease stains. they are virtually impossible to get rid of, at least im my experience.

  7. if you used bleach in the previous load and some was not well diluted perhaps that these spots are caused by this, give the washer a good rinse before adding your colours. I had black spot on my laundry and it was due to grease marks, I had to get a new washer.

  8. It might be something stuck on the wall in your dryer.

  9. Yes, there are bits of bleach in your washer, this always happens with public machines.

  10. If you use dryer sheets and turn the temp up on the dryer too high, they can cause oily looking spots on the clothes.  Either don't use the laundry sheets or turn the temp down on the dryer.

  11. You’re not washing chap stick or something else ‘melty’ are you?  That’s the only thing I can think of that creates those spots.

  12. i know why the spots appear it's because you pour the detergent directly over your clothes ...with out the water running over it...try running the water then placing in the soap lastly placing in your clothes if your at home ...but if your at the laurndry mat wait till the machine fills with water befor you add you detergent

    hope this helps!!!
