Do you use liquid detergent, powder, double strength?

Do you use additives? Softener, Water softener. Bleach, Borax, Color-safe Bleach, Vinegar?

Hot water, Warm, Cold?

Do you line dry - or dry in dryer? Fabric softener?

I know its a lot of questions. Thank you for your help.

  1. I use the biodegradeable natural powder, Planet detergent.  Cold water and dry in dryer.  No fabric softener.

  2. I use powder detergent on all hot or warm washes and liquid on warm dark and coloured clothing.

I substitute some of the powder for washing soda, I don't use bleach as here in UK it is already in powders for whites.

I use 60 deg C for white sheets, towels and kitchen cloths.

I use 40 deg C for everything else.  We don't wash in cold water in UK - must be a European thing not to wash in cold water, our machines don't usually have a cold setting.

I dry outside on a line weather permitting, if not then I use the dryer, things that are not suited to the dryer I hang in the airing cupboard.

I only use fabric softener if I am line drying and never on towels as it stops them being absorbent.

  3. powder detergent dye and scent free (i own my machine and liquid is bad for it)

a scoop of oxy clean in every load

wash everything in warm wash, warm rinse except whites in hot/warm

    dryer no fabric sheets

  4. Usually, I use generic liquid detergent.  I add liquid bleach to my whites.  I usually wash in warm or cold water except whites which I wash in warm or hot.  Mostly I dry in the dryer, but some line drying.  Fabric softener sheets once in a while, but not on a regular basis.

  5. Liquid detergent (dry free & hypoallergenic), regular strength

Additives: Sometimes I'll use Oxiclean or Bleach (not often)

Cold water. Sometimes (not often) I'll use hot water when I have to wash clothes/crib sheets with p**p on them (I have a toddler).

I line dry on nice days, use the dryer for the rest. I also use my clothes rack inside. Dryer sheets, sometimes.

  6. Detergent: Concentrated, dye and perfume free liquid

Additives: Depends on the load, stinky stuff, borax; dirty whites, bleach or oxyclean; Dark colors, vinegar to set the color and stop bleeding; Dirty colors, color safe bleach.  Normal loads, baking soda to boost detergent power

    Cold water washes

Mostly toss items in the dryer long enough to release wrinkles and then line dry.  Exception, towels and bed linens or heavy items like jeans. I have to line dry indoors (smoggy outside and dusty canyon).  My laundry room doesn't get a lot of air circulation so heavy items can take days to fully dry.

Fabric softener sheets in dryer or vinegar added to rinse water.

  7. I use liquid detergent with fabric softner in it (Tide with Downey) and pre-treat stains if necessary. I wash whites in warm and colors in cold, I never use hot. I mostly dry everything in the dryer but some of my dainties I line dry.

  8. I use powdered Gain, vanilla orchid scent

I add colored bleach sometimes, once a month I usually bleach my whites and I add OxyClean to every wash

I wash everything in cold water, unless my kids wet the bed or other similar things, then it's a hot wash

I line dry my bras and some of my tops, everything else is in the dryer. I use dryer sheets for my sheets and towels, not my clothes.

  9. I use Gain Apple Mango Tango detergent that is concentrated liquid.

    I have a water softener.

I use cold water for everything except for towels, whites, or heavy soiled items. I then will use hot/rinse cold or warm/rinse warm.

I dry in a dryer with Apple Mango Tango dryer sheets.

  10. I use powder for sheets and towels (hot water/cold rinse).  Liquid for everything else.  Warm for socks, underwear and tee-shirts; cold for everything else.  I don't use anything but detergent.  I usually hang all clothes to dry (indoors thanks to environmentally unfriendly HOA).  Sometimes I put socks and underwear in the dryer, but it's better for the elastic to hang them.  Sheets and towels go in dryer.
