Laura Brown keen  on her Olympics goal
Laura Brown rode brilliantly during the Exergy Tour and her courageous performances inspired a number of spectators throughout the race.
The cyclist unluckily caught up in a crash towards the end of the stage 2 which left her with numerous bruises and cuts.
She managed to gather her strengths and finished the race at the 25th position with a total deficit of 1 minute and 38 second behind the race leader, Amber Neben of Team Specialized-lululemon.
Evelyn Stevens, Clara Hughes, Shara Gillow, Gillian Carleton and Ina Yoko Teutenberg occupied the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth positions in the respective order.
“I'm just sore, nothing's broken, so I'm pretty happy to be here. I'm pretty happy to be on the start line today,” she noted before the Sunday’s stage.
Laura was eyeing the coming Olympics as the biggest goal of her 2012 season and she has noted that the crash will not make her amend her plans for the London’s event.
“It's my dream, I always wanted to be an Olympian, so to be this close to going, and not only going but winning a medal,” she mentioned.
“It's just keeps me focused and motivated very single day to be the best I can”.
Running and not knowing if I was OK or not, it was going through my head, but I was just blown away with the medical staff and attention, they were really, really good,” she concluded.
She finished the stage 3 of the Exergy Tour at the 56th spot with the 48th overall position after the stage 3 classifications.
Brown could not start the final stage of the race because of crash and is now eyeing the 2012 Olympic Games as the biggest goal of his 2012 season.
