Laure Manaudou clinches Women’s 100m IM gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Laure Manaudou of CN Marseille clinched gold medal of the Women’s 100m Individual Medley on day two of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Friday, November 16.
Manaudou crushed hopes of her opponents in the shortest IM discipline as she overpowered them over the finishing end for gold medal.
With her gruelling efforts, she remained only a touch ahead of her closest competitor and surfaced on the wall for the title by clocking a time of 1 minute and 00.55 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Charlotte Bonnet of Olympic Nice Natation, who was 0.06 seconds apart and proved her mettle for silver medal of the race by touching the wall in a time of 1 minute and 00.61 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Sophie de Ronchi of ES Massy Natation, who stayed 1.30 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the finishing wall for third position by posting a time of 1 minute and 01.91 seconds.
Subsequently, de Ronchi remained 0.17 seconds ahead Cloe Credeville of Nantes Natation, who was unable to reach the podium and ended fourth in the race by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 02.08 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Beryl Gastaldello of Beryl, who stayed 0.32 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and hit the wall with a timing 1 minute and 02.40 seconds.
Gastaldello was followed by Ophelie-Cyrielle Etienne of Lille Metropole Natation, who was 0.69 seconds slower and concluded her race in sixth place by submitting an effort of 1 minute and 03.09 seconds.
Seventh spot of the event was obtained by Marine Bacchetta of ES Massy Natation, who was 0.28 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 03.37 seconds.
Bacchetta was trailed by Adeline Martin of CN Antibes, who was 0.04 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 03.41 seconds.
In addition, Manaudou was happy with her title claiming effort and stressed that she would try hard to continue the same in future.
