Laure Manaudou pockets Women’s 100m backstroke gold: 2012 French Short Course Nationals
Laure Manaudou of CN Marseille pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 100m backstroke on opening day of 2012 French Short Course Nationals on Thursday, November 15.
Manaudou crushed hopes of her opponents by capturing the title of the sprint event. She remained prominently ahead of her competitors from the start and continued her dominance throughout the race for gold medal.
She showed no leniency to her opponents in the 100m discipline and stepped on the victory stand for the crown by producing a time of 58.07 seconds.
Her title claiming effort remained 0.45 second faster from Alexianne Castel of Cercle Des Nageurs de Talence, who followed her on the medal rostrum for silver medal by touching the wall with an effort of 58.52 seconds.
Castel was traced by Cloe Credeville of Nantes Natation, who was only a stroke behind and reserved her spot on the victory stand for third position by clocking an effort of 58.80 seconds.
The third position holder was traced by Auriane De Premilhat of CN Marseille, who was only 0.50 seconds slower from upsetting her former finisher and settled on the wall as fourth position holder by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 00.30 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Camille Gheorghiu of Aquatic Club Bourges, who stayed 0.71 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and ended her swim in a time of 1 minute and 01.01 seconds.
Gheorghiu was followed by Mathilde Cini of Valence Triathlon, who was 0.21 seconds away from her former finisher and hit the finishing end with a timing of 1 minute and 01.22 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh position of the race was obtained by Pauline Galateau of CN Cevennes Ales, who was 1.42 seconds apart and ended her race in a time of 1 minute and 02.64 seconds.
Galateau was trailed by Melanie Henique of Amiens Metropole Nat., who was unable to overpower any of her challengers and finished eighth in the race with a timing 1 minute and 02.77 seconds.
Furthermore, Manaudou was happy with her title claiming effort and raked medal at the victory ceremony.
