Laure Manaudou wins Women’s 200m freestyle A Final in Athens: Day two – 2011 USA Swimming Sectionals
Day two of the USA Swimming Sectionals began in dramatic fashion with Laure Manaudou dominating the Women’s 200m freestyle A Final in Athens, Georgia, United States, on Friday, July 15.
The opening session of the competition conducted the A, B, C and D finals in Women’s and Men’s 200m freestyle events.
Manaudou took home the Women’s 200m freestyle A Final with a winning time of 1 minute and 59.30 seconds. Meanwhile, Megan Romano wound up second in 1 minute and 59.34 seconds, while Melanie Margalis settled third in a time of 2 minutes and 01.21 seconds.
Katherine Huff secured the first spot in the Women’s 200m freestyle B Final with a time of 2 minutes and 03.90 seconds, while Jessica Graber was placed second in 2 minutes and 05.19 seconds. Miffy Henley finished third in 2 minutes and 05.94 seconds.
In the Women’s 200m freestyle C Final, Olivia Scott settled first in a time of 2 minutes and 05.24 seconds. Meanwhile, Michelle Gasior captured the Women’s 200m freestyle D Final with a victorious time of 2 minutes and 07.64 seconds. Melissa Postoll finished
second in 2 minutes and 07.91 seconds, while Megan Eppler settled third in a time of 2 minutes and 07.94 seconds.
The Men’s 200m freestyle A Final was captured by Alec Cohen in 1 minute and 51.19 seconds. Evan Reed wound up second in 1 minute and 51.23 seconds, while Doug Reynolds earned third placed honours in 1 minute and 51.50 seconds.
Dillon Love snatched the Men’s 200m freestyle B Final meet with a sterling time of 1 minute and 54.05 seconds, whereas, Jimmy Yoder finished second in 1 minute and 54.22 seconds. Nick Wrightson secured third spot in a time of 1 minute and 54.41 seconds.
Matthew Bartlett nabbed the Men’s 200m freestyle C Final meet with a winning time of 1 minute and 52.60 seconds. Will Freeman was placed second in 1 minute and 54.37 seconds, while Alex Burtch finished third in a time of 1 minute and 55.23 seconds. The Men’s
200m freestyle D Final was taken over by Allen Browning with a time of 1 minute and 55.26 seconds.
