Lauren Boyle pocket Women’s 400m freestyle gold – 2013 NZ Open Championships
Lauren Boyle of North Shore Swimming pocketed gold medal of the Women’s 400m breaststroke on foremost day of the 2013 NZ Open Championships in Westwave Aquatic Centre, Auckland, on Sunday, March 17.
The 25-year-old Boyle astonished the crowd with her scintillating form in the event. She remained comfortable ahead of her following swimmer and occupied the title of the event.
With her commendable pace, she remained prominently ahead of her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing an effort of 4 minute and 06.39 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Samantha Lucie-Smith of Capital Swim Club, who was considerably slower from her foregoing finisher and hit the wall for silver medal with an effort of 4 minutes and 10.79 seconds.
The third fastest spot of the race was obtained by Tash Hind of Capital Swim Club, who stayed nearly three body lengths slower from her and clocked an effort of 4 minutes and 13.52 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Emma Robinson of Capital Swim Club, who was prominently away from her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the finishing end with the timing of 4 minutes and 16.34 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Tabitha Baumann of North Shore Swimming, who was one and a half body length behind and posted a time of 4 minutes and 17.82 seconds.
Sixth position of the event was obtained by Bonnie MacDonald of Tss Aquatic, who was 1.50 seconds slower and posted an effort of 4 minutes 19.32 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Carina Doyle of Waves Swimming Club, who was three body lengths behind and touched the wall with the timing of 4 minutes and 19.32 seconds.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Lisa Catto of Hokonui Aquatics, who touched the finishing end with an effort of 4 minutes and 25.87 seconds.
Furthermore, Boyle received a huge round of applause from the crowd while the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts after the race.
