Laurent Blanc admits France laboured in victory over Luxembourg
France national team coach, Laurent Blanc, admits that his side laboured for a victory over Luxembourg in the 2-0 win in the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Goals from Lyon midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 defender Philippe Mexes were enough as Les Bleus consolidated
their lead at the top of Euro 2012 Qualifying Group D.
The victory was France’s sixth straight victory under Laurent Blanc but Les Bleus were far from convincing during the 2-0 win. However, it was a good return for Franck Ribery and Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra. It was Patrice Evra’s first game
for France since the World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 last year. He was banned by French Football Association due to his heavy involvement in a ‘French footballer riot’ Raymond Domenech, the French manager at that time.
Blanc, for his part, admitted that the victory was definitely not the best performance since he (Blanc) took over. He termed the victory Laborious and admitted that his side wasn’t the best going forward and praised the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luxembourg-c2945 side for playing a well-organized
game at the back. While talking to the media, the former France international said, “I am happy to get the three points, but over the course of the two games against them we have been laborious.”
While talking about Evra and Ribery’s performances, Blanc said that the duo couldn’t start well just like the rest of the team but added that they found it difficult to settle down as they had been away from the national set-up for some time. “They have
had a harder week than the others. It was just a question of finding out whether the dynamic in the team would be disturbed, but I am pleased with the work they have put in this week," said the former Manchester United man.
Bayern Munich winger, Franck Ribery, also said that he was happy to be back with the national team and though he acknowledged that he wasn’t at his best, he said that a victory for his side was more important and was happy for getting to play the entire
game. Manchester United defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231, also spoke about his return to France and said that the welcome he received was fantastic. Evra went on to thank all those who supported him during his absence from the national set-up.
Although the match wasn’t a spectacle, the win has given France some breathing space as highflying Belarus look cut the deficit. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849 are on 8 points
while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bosnia-and-Herzegovina-c2856 are in 4th position with 7 points with a game in hand.
